Le groupement SOHOUETO est composé de dix neuf personnes qui résident dans le même quartier. C'est la deuxième fois que ce groupement sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de leur activité. La représentante de ce groupement, du nom de Thomasia est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Thomasia est âgée de 54 ans et est mariée à un certain Antoine. Le couple a deux enfants tous scolarisés et à leur charge. En plus de leurs enfants, le couple a un autre enfant à charge. Thomasia vit ensemble avec ses enfants et son mari. Les diverses charges de la maison sont assurées par le couple. Thomasia a arrêté l’école au niveau secondaire. Afin de subvenir aux diverses charges du ménage, Thomasia vend depuis sept ans, des boissons dans une buvette et à son domicile. Cette activité lui procure des revenus non négligeables. Thomasia s’approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaire et son revenu, Thomasia sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupement SOHOUETO, un deuxième crédit auprès de ALIDé. Le premier crédit a été bien remboursé.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late.
