Floridah has been in farming for twenty years, besides running a retail business in the local market. She says farming caters to a bigger portion of her family’s needs. She is married, with two children aged twelve and fourteen years.
Floridah has requested a loan of 40,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo for a venture into poultry farming. She says she will use the income to expand her farming business and buy more acres of land. Her focus is on making her farming business a lucrative one.
She compliments Juhudi Kilimo for the efficiency in disbursement of loans.
To facilitate a partnership between Kiva and Juhudi Kilimo, K-Rep Group (Juhudi Kilimo’s 100% owner) has guaranteed Kiva funds in the event of institutional default. Lenders should be aware that the risk of borrower default remains borne by the lender.
