Naomi is single and a mother of one child, age eleven years. She is age 24 and has been active in farming for five successive years in her rural home in Nyamira, South Rift, Kenya. Her farm produce includes mainly maize, beans, milk and tea, with the latter being a specialty of the region. She runs a retail shop business as well.

Naomi has requested a loan of 40,000 KES from Kiva partner Juhudi Kilimo to enable her to start poultry farming. She says the loan will help her diversify her farming business and generate income throughout the year, which will in turn improve her family's living standards.

She thanks Juhudi Kilimo for the farming support but points out that low prices for farming products and animal diseases are the main challenges.
