Patricia, age 35, has been been involved in the sales of fashion "lappers" (traditional cloth) for the past eight years. She lives in the Ganta area with her husband and their three children. The youngest is six years old and the eldest is 17. All three live at home and attend school. Before she started her business, Patricia ran a local "cook shop" (a small restaurant business).
Patricia has requested a loan in order to purchase more fashion lappers, with the goal of expanding her venture into a larger business. Her primary obstacle is the exchanging of USD to Liberian dollars.
What Patricia likes about her business is that she makes new friends and meets people each and every day. She is proud to be bringing in a daily income to help sustain her family.
In future, she hopes to open another shop near the one she now operates.
