Saumu is 41 and married, and she lives in her own house in Samburu. She lives with her husband and six children, five of whom attend school.
She raises hens. She tells us that she has been doing this work for some time, so she has a well-formed client base. She is a woman who is hardworking and enterprising, a fighter. She has always worked, and she is not afraid to take on a challenge. She says that thanks to her husband's help and her work, she is getting ahead with a lot of effort and sacrifice.
Saumu is seeking a loan to invest in the purchase of hens to raise in her coop so that she can increase her income and attain a better standard of living.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
