Mary is married with seven children and only two of her children go to school. She takes care of additional family members (two orphans).
She has a business of chicken feed and has applied for a loan of 400,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT SACCO to buy more maize bran, fish and cotton cake for making chicken feed.
She has been in this business for ten years and sells to all categories of people on retail and works seven days a week in a rented shop. Her major business challenges include seasonality and transportation of bags of maize bran to her shop.
She is aspiring to own a delivery van to ease in transportation and also to become a wholesaler. She resides in her own house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and rent for her business premise.
