Luz Marina
Luz is a very hardworking person living in the city of Chincha, a city noted for its Afro-Peruvian population, its dances and because it’s the birthplace of great Peruvian sports heroes; for its beautiful beaches and for the production of their stellar product: “Pisco.” This city is also noted for its cuisine since residents of this city are known for the tasty way they prepare food. One of Luz’s favorite dishes is the very delicious “Arroz con Pato” [Duck with Rice] and in her free time she enjoys listening to music because it relaxes her when she’s upset or worried.

With much effort, Luz managed to establish her business selling spices and ground products. She sells ground condiments for food as well as ground spices. She also sells products like rice, sugar and noodles, among others. She works about 9 hours daily since the sale of these products helps customers have ingredients ready to add to food and to cook more rapidly. She believes that she does well in her business because she makes her products very hygienically and above all because she sells fresh products and customers trust her products.

The gratitude Luz feels towards Kiva lenders is very big because this is the second time they’ve given her help and thanks to their great help she will be able to buy more utensils and ingredients like rice and sugar, among others to make her products and thus continue saving to reach her greatest dream: to provide her children with professions.
