A member of Duo Noveno San Pedro, Sonia Yanira lives in the canton of San Francisco in the town of Vista Hermosa, San Pedro Sacatepequez, together with her family. She is very happy for the help that they give her in everything. She is a very entrepreneurial woman. Her business is a store, but she has also accomplished another life goal, which is the sale of fried potatoes on the edge of the highway in the canton where she lives.

Since the workers always asked her if sold lunches, she was able to buy a cart and now she sells french fries and fried chicken. The ladies also ask for vegetables and so she also sells some vegetables.

The money isn't enough, so she sees the need to ask for another loan to be able to offer people what they ask for both in potatoes and in vegetables and in this way continue struggling for her dream, which is to continue prospering in every way.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
