Margarita Maria
Margarita has had to go through many adversities in her life. Notwithstanding, she’s always had great strength to continue forward with her children making progress. She learned how to sell products while still very young because he father taught her how when she was still little and now that she has household obligations this activity is her source of income.

Margarita is a single mother head of household with three children because the father of her children abandoned them some time ago making no economic contribution towards their support which has caused her home to constantly face economic difficulties which force her to have to strive mightily every day in her work to overcome them little by little. Thanks to the good sales she’s had these last few months, Margarita is looking for a loan that will make it possible for her to buy more clothes to meet customer demand.

Her greatest dream is to move the business forward so that she can provide her three children with a good education and more dignified life. She also hopes that her business will make it possible for her to finish building her house and have a home in better condition.

Important Information

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
