Edith is a single mother of four children and all her children go to school. She doesn’t take care of additional family members.
Edith has a business of a beauty salon and has been in this business for 8 years. She has applied for a loan of 1,000,000 Uganda shillings (UGX) from MCDT SACCO to buy more boxes of cream relaxers, braids, and weaves. She works from home and sells on retail basis only seven days a week. Her major business challenges include seasonality and the ever increasing prices of cream relaxers.
She is aspiring of owning a bridal salon and also to own a fully stocked beauty salon. She resides in rented house and the family has access to electricity and no piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees, rent, and feeding the family.
