Rehema is from the city of Mombasa. She’s the mother of four children all of whom attend school. She’s married and is a merchant by trade, selling charcoal from a small store set up in her home. She started this business two years ago. Her husband is a businessman. They work together to get their family ahead. She will use the money from this loan to buy sacks of charcoal for resale. Her plans include expanding her store and owning a lorry in the future. Her goal is to prepare her children to become professionals.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
