Janeth, aged 26, is a married entrepreneur from Gata Daku, Clarin who has two children. She earns an income from her motorcycle transport business which she started almost two years ago and from which she earns 14,000 PHP a month.
To improve her business, she is borrowing 50,000 PHP from GDMPC microcredit, which she joined recently, to obtain motorcycle accessories and tires. Before long, she’s hopeful of the possibility of expanding her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
