Berna is married with five children and three of her children go to school. She takes care of additional family members (her sisters). She has a poultry farm and has been in this business for 10 years. She has applied for a loan of 1,500,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more bags of chicken feed and chicks. She generates additional income through selling cosmetics.
Berna works from her home and sells to all categories of people, retail, and works seven days a week. Her major business challenges include thieves and transportation of chicken feed from Kisenyi to her home. She is aspiring of owning 5000 chickens and also buying a delivery van to ease transportation. She resides in her own house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses includes school fees and feeding the family.
