Benny is a single mother of four children, of whom two go to school. She also takes care of an additional family member: her older sister.
Benny has a business of tailoring and has been in this business for 7 years. She has applied for a loan of 1,500,000 Uganda shillings (UGX) to buy another sewing machine and rolls of clothing materials. She generates additional income through selling medicines from Dynapharm. She works from Kampala city and sells finished clothes on retail. Her major business challenges include seasonality and thieves.
She aspires to see her business grow big so as to open a tailoring school and also to build rental rooms. She resides in her own house but the family has no access to electricity or piped water. Her monthly expenses include food and school fees.
