Kalbubu is 58 years old and a widow. She lives with her son's family and helps bring up her grandchildren. Forty years ago Kalbubu made animal farming the main source of income for her family. Having started this business with 5,000 KGS, Kalbubu currently has two dairy cows and their calves and 3.6 hectares of irrigated land, where she grows potatoes and grains. The monthly income from the farm is 8,000 KGS.

To expand her business further, Kalbubu has contacted Bai Tushum & Partners for a loan of 70,000 KGS to buy dairy cows to increase her milk yield. Kalbubu plans to invest the earnings from this loan to expand her farm further.
