Orange Group's story

Walter, age 50, is married with six children, three of whom go to school. He has had two businesses: a Bodaboda (motorcycle) business) and a Genge-shop(selling charcoal, fruits, vegetable, water, soap etc) for about five years now. He is really doing great. He works from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily and he is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be his fourth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to buy more sacks of charcoal and has paid back all his loans successfully. He hopes for a new loan to buy more sacks of charcoal. Walter's dream is to one day be able to sell charcoal at the wholesale price.

He will share this loan with his loan group "Orange", which consists of 13 members who will be accountable for paying back the loan.
