La economía local está basada en actividades agropecuarias, donde destaca la siembra de tubérculos, café, maíz, frijoles y ganadería.
Oscar está solicitando un préstamo de ochocientos mil colones (¢800.000) para comprar semilla de maíz y frijoles, abonos, insecticidas y fungicidas para darle mantenimiento a su siembra, protegerla durante su desarrollo y de esta manera brindar productos de calidad a sus clientes, el ingreso económico familiar depende de esta actividad, por lo tanto se esfuerza en realizarla de la mejor manera.
Oscar es socio de la Empresa de Crédito Comunal de La Danta S.A, que es una de las 150 empresas de crédito comunal de Costa Rica.
