The community bank "Lecheritas" is starting its first loan cycle with Pro Mujer, working through the institution's regional office in Patacamata. The group is comprised of eleven members, and is overseen by a board of directors, of which Lorenza is the president.

The group members are involved in a variety of businesses, including growing and selling carrots and other vegetables, dairy farming, and buying and selling livestock.

This loan will benefit these small micro-businesses, including that of Lorenza. She reports that this is the first time the group is working with Pro Mujer. She was invited by a member of Pro Mujer who went to her house to visit her. Currently she has a milk production business. She has been doing this work for six years, along with her husband. They started the business together.

She will use her portion of the loan funds for working capital to purchase livestock. She will buy the livestock in a nearby community and will then raise the animals. This work will allow her to generate income to support her family as much as possible. She is married and has four children.

When she was asked what she liked about Pro Mujer, she said that she likes the ease with which a loan can be obtained.

La A.C. “LECHERITAS” iniciará el primer ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Patacamata, está compuesta por once integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Lorenza es la Presidenta. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos tenemos: producción de zanahorias, producción de leche, compra y venta de ganado, venta de zanahorias, producción de hortalizas

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias donde la señora Lorenza es una integrante, ella indica que es la primera vez que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por invitación de una promotora de la institución que fue a su casa a visitarla. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de producción de leche; cuenta que desde hace seis años que trabaja en esta actividad, conjuntamente su esposo, ya que ambos iniciaron este emprendimiento.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para incremento ampliación de capital (compra de ganado) mismo que comprará de una comunidad aledaña, posteriormente lo criará. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para apoyar en lo posible a su familia, pues ella es casada y tiene cuatro hijos.

Cuando se le consulta que le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta el crédito ágil.

The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
