Immaculate is age 59 and has been in active farming business for 15 years without interruption in her rural home in Kitale area of Western Kenya. Her farm currently produces milk, maize, and beans, which she sells to the local market to help her meet her family's basic needs.
Immaculate has made a loan request of 40,000 Kenya shillings (KES) from Juhudi Kilimo to help her venture into poultry farming. She says that the diversification of her farming business will generate more income to meet her family's basic needs and more specifically take care of her orphaned grandchildren.
Immaculate is glad for Juhudi Kilimo loan services.
To facilitate a partnership between Kiva and Juhudi Kilimo, K-Rep Group (Juhudi Kilimo’s 100% owner) has guaranteed Kiva funds in the event of institutional default. Lenders should be aware that the risk of borrower default remains borne by the lender.
