Hellen is a farmer in Nyamira. She is married and has three adult children. She has been in farming for 25 consecutive years and currently produces and sells sugarcane, milk, maize, bananas, sorghum, and tea to the local markets. She also operates a retail shop to generate more income.
Hellen has made a loan request amounting to 40,000 KES, which she will use to construct a dairy unit for her cows. She hopes her income will enable her to provide better living standards to her children, as well as to provide for herself especially in her old-age.
However, she notes the challenges occasioned by unstable weather conditions.
