A villager from Pusat province, Te, aged 46, is married and has nine children. Two of her children stay with the family, and one is a student while the other one works for other for money. Te is a housewife and her husband is the one who earns money to support the family by farming rice, selling palm juice, and sometimes working as a laborer. Her family has always wanted to have a proper house, yet they lack money.

Te's group consists of three members and she was appointed to be a group leader. Te and the other member have been with VisionFund for two loan cycles. As a leader, Te used her portion to buy fertilizers and use a share of it to pay for labor fees as she hired some people to help with the land preparation and cultivating. Through this loan, Te hopes to increase her crop yield so that she can make more money for her family to live in a better standard of living.

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
