Pauline is a 50-year-old woman, a widow, and the mother of one child, who is 30. She has her grandchild to support. Pauline has been a merchant at a local market for ten years where she sells fresh and dried staple foods according to the season. Thanks to this business, she meets the needs of her family. However, not having enough capital, she is compelled to buy staple foods at the retail level. This brings in little in returns.

She is requesting this loan to increase her stock of merchandise by buying bundles of vegetables (okok) and sacks of tubers. She can then avoid repeated trips, thus reducing her transport costs and increasing her sales and her profit margins.

She will reinvest part of her profits into her business. The rest will help her to meet the needs of her small family.
