Denis is 35 years old and lives in the town of Najera in the Kampala West region of Uganda. He is married and has four children, with three of them currently in school. For the past 10 years, Denis has been working hard to manage his butcher shop, which sells meat.

To help expand his business, Denis has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to expand his business by purchasing more meat to butcher, and will help Denis to generate greater profits and to improve his family's status. Denis hopes that in the future, he will be able to open up more businesses within the locality.

Denis is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP.) The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Denis who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
