Tomas lives in Mitugas, Tudela, Misamis Occidental. He has earned income from his plantation for the past 20 years in order to support the needs of his four children. Tomas earns an income of 4,000 PHP a month from this business. For a 40-year-old father, there’s nothing that can make him happier than to see his children successful in their studies.
Without hesitation, Tomas is borrowing 5,000 PHP from GDMPC microcredit to purchase seeds, seedlings and young crops to raise. He is new to GDMPC. In the future, Tomas plans to hopefully improve his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
