Eliza is from Silanga, Tangub City. She is 24 years old and single. To make a living, Eliza is running a general store, selling a variety of food and home-use products in the local community. Eliza has been in this business for three years and earns 10,000 PHP a month. Eliza is requesting a loan of 15,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase new items to expand her product offerings. In 2011, Eliza joined GDMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the loan to save as a reserve for future emergencies.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
