Ganesh is a 30-year-old differently-abled man living with his wife and two children. He has been engaged in the business of mushroom cultivation, at very small scale, for the past two years. The local market sellers come and buy from him and sell at the market. He earns 7000 Indian Rupees (INR) per month from this business.
Mushrooms are a very popular item used in cooking Indian curries in Odisha. The demand for mushrooms is very high in the market, but he is not able to meet that demand, so he decided to do this mushroom cultivation at a larger scale.
He has requested a loan of 70,000 INR for purchasing mushroom seeds, compost, sterilized bags, and machinery for pasteurization. He will also hire an additional work force to help him to do it at larger scale.
He says that he can save enough from the increased earnings to make a big house for his family and send his children to a good school.
