Hussein is a 37-year-old Lebanese man who lives with his wife and four children, all of whom are attending school. Since 1998, he has owned a poultry shop where he sells delicious fresh chicken and sandwiches. His business is the main source of income for the family. Over the years, Hussein has been able to expand his business and hire a full-time employee.
Hussein is asking for a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to improve his shop’s decor, purchase an electric generator for his business, and build a tent next to his shop in order to welcome customers properly and allow them to enjoy eating his tasty food comfortably. He is very optimistic and confident that the loan will allow him to gain more customers and increase his income.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
