Santilata is a 37-year-old differently-abled lady. She lives with her younger brother, who is married and has two children.
Santilata runs her terracotta business with the help of her brother. She learned this work in her childhood as it is their family occupation. She makes earthen pots and statues of gods and paints them. Her brother helps her to supply those finished products to the dealers in the market.
She plans to expand her business, appoint new work staff to help her, and to own a shop in the marketplace for direct sale of the product to end customers. She needs a loan of 30,000 Indian Rupees (INR) to buy more resources like paints, brushes, and ornaments for statues (statue of Indian God and Goddess) and to set up her own shop in the market.
She wants to give her niece and nephew a better education and let her family live a happy life.
