Maura Olimpia
Maura is 65 years old and lives in the city of Ica, a city that is characterized by its warm and friendly climate. It is also known for tourist attractions such as lake Huacachina, which is situated in the midst of marvelous sand dunes where people enjoy adventure sports such as sand-boarding. The area is also known for its agriculture, especially for the cultivation of grapes, asparagus, beans and Lima beans.

When she has a little bit of free time, she likes to cook and enjoy one of her favorite dishes “Seco de Pollo”, (a type of chicken stew). As she has always had few financial resources, she only finished high school, but she would have liked to study to become a teacher.

With a great deal of effort and saving, Maura managed to buy herself a mototaxi, which she uses to transport passengers. She also has a small business selling clothes and a variety of groceries. She believes her businesses are going well because she is friendly to her customers, and above all because with the fruits of her labor she is able to meet her household expenses.

Maura is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since thanks to their help she will be able to buy new tires and doors for her mototaxi. This will make her vehicle more secure, and above all it will be safer for her passengers, and she will also avoid having to pay fines. She will continue every day to make her greatest dream a reality: "to have a large clothing shop."
