A loan of $400 helped to buy medicine for her mother.

Amalia Felipa's story

Amalia is a 47-year-old woman living with her parents and her son in the city of Ica in Santiago District. She’s a very humble, hardworking, kind and enthusiastic person who focuses all her efforts into moving her family forward. Unfortunately, she separated from her husband and since then has been both father and mother to her son. In her free time she likes to watch educational and news programs on television and sometimes cooks some delicious “Tallarines Rojos” to share with her family.

With much effort and enthusiasm, Amalia works day to day as a field hand on a large agricultural estate in her city. She works approximately 10 hours daily and feels good doing her work. She believes she does well because of her dedication and because of the kind way she treats others.

Amalia is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to their support she will be able to buy medicine for her mother who is suffering a grievous illness. In this way, Amalia will be able to have the necessary medicine her mother’s care requires.
