Saom C., aged 54, is a true entrepreneur and with her husband has two small businesses. She works making Khmer cake to sell in a busy market and earns approximately less than $1 of profit a day. Her husband is a farmer. Everyday he goes to his field and does the farming. On average, he makes about $2 of income per day. They have seven children, six of whom are married and live away from home. Monthly, most of the children combine their money and send around $20 to support their parents.

She would like to loan from Kiva to purchase a cow to reduce costs, as before her husband rented a small tractor to plow the farmland. This will allow them to save in the future.
