Liz
Liz is 37 years old, and lives with her two children in the house they acquired 9 years ago. Since she became the sole provider for her children, Liz has always sought out means of supporting her family. She ventured into sewing and making garments, a trade she knew well, and she now makes traditional skirts, petticoats, blankets and other items that people in rural areas wear both on a daily basis or for special festivals. Her business is going well so far, and her workshop is centrally located next to the city market. She already has four years of experience, and has learned a lot in that time, including how to sell clothing for various types of festivals in her country, and how to make extra money for household expenses. She wants to expand and improve her business to make her workshop one of the most widely known in the region.

Liz is a member of the community bank, "IDME," and this is her fourteenth loan with MFP. These past seven years of involvement with the micro-finance organization have helped her to strengthen her business and learn important financial management skills. She promises to continue her history of on time loan payments, and is grateful to be a part of a group with such high solidarity. She feels that the group is, "like a family."

Liz plans to use the support from this loan to purchase necessary items for garment making, such as thread, fabric, clasps and other accessories.
