The group's representative, Mitondji Léontine, is the one in the photo with her hand raised. She is 48 years old and married to a retailer named Paul.

Mitondji Léontine did not attend school. The couple have four children. Some are in school, and one of them remains in their care. Mitondji Léontine lives together with her husband and child. The couple share in the different household expenses.

To help with the different family needs, Mitondji Léontine has been selling sewing supplies for nineteen years out of her home. This business enables her to meet her needs without much problem. She gets her supplies from a market in Benin.

Seeking to satisfy his customers and to increase his sales and revenues, Mitondji Léontine, along with the other members of the group HOUN-KPONOU, is requesting a second loan from ALIDé. The previous loan was indeed repaid.

Le groupe HOUN-KPONOU est composé de trois personnes qui résident dans le même quartier. C'est la deuxième fois que ce groupe sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de son activité. La représentante du groupe, du nom de Mitondji Léontine est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Mitondji Léontine est âgée de 48 ans et est mariée à un revendeur du nom de Paul. Mitondji Léontine n’a pas fréquenté l’école. Le couple a quatre enfants, ont certains scolarisés et un reste à leur charge. Mitondji Léontine vit ensemble avec son mari et son enfant. Le couple se partage les différentes charges de la maison. Pour contribuer aux différents besoins de la famille, Mitondji Léontine vend depuis dix neuf ans des produits de mercerie à son domicile. Cette activité lui permet de répondre sans grande difficulté à ses besoins. Mitondji Léontine s’approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaires et son revenu, Mitondji Léontine sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe HOUN-KPONOU, un deuxième crédit auprès de ALIDé. Le prêt antérieur a été bien remboursé.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
