Hope is 38 years old and married, with three children.
She works hard to provide for her family by running a livestock selling business, where she buys and sells chickens. Hope has requested a KES 50,000 loan through Yehu to buy young chickens for breeding and chicken feed. Hope says that she gets her young chickens from nearby villages and then breeds them for some days before selling them.
Hope has borrowed and repaid two loans from Yehu before this. She has been running the business for the last three years. Hope aspires to save money to expand her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
