Warren, 30, is a single entrepreneur from Pangabuan, Tangub City. He has two children and is earning income from his transport-service business. It has been going for almost seven years now, and he earn 6,000 Philippines pesos (PHP) a month. To improve business, Warren is borrowing the amount of 10,000 PHP from GDMPC microcredit, which he just joined recently to obtain accessories and tires. Before long, he’s hopeful of the possibility of expanding his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
