A 28-year-old young lady, Ms. Chinyavu is married to a businessman and the mother of a 7-year-old son. She works selling fruits and vegetables in a small stall located opposite her house. She has been doing this since last year. At times, she also sells green maize. She is on her second loan from Yehu and the first with Kiva. She is seeking this loan to buy more fruits and vegetables for resale. She would like to increase her stock in order to satisfy her numerous customers. Her hope for the future is to have her own shop and to provide for her family.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
