Maria
María’s a member of the “Villa Unida” communal bank belonging to San Javier commune located in the city of Linares. Her line of work for the last 8 months has been a beauty salon. San Javier is a commune and city in central Chile belonging to the Maule region. It’s notable for being a wine producing zone. The local vineyards belong to a zone called Valle del Loncomilla where some of Chile’s best wines come like Viña Carolina and Viña Gillmore, among others.

Maria forma parte del Banco Comunal “Villa Unida” perteneciente a la comuna de San Javier ubicada en la ciudad de Linares.
Ella se dedica al rubro de la peluquería, desde hace 8 meses. Realizó algunos cursos de especialización, lo que le permitió perfeccionarse y emprender en su negocio. Específicamente en corte de pelo, peinados y tinturas.
Maria se desempeña en sus labores de peluquería de lunes a domingo desde las 09ºº hasta las 19.30ºº horas, cuando necesita hacer tramites contrata a una ayudante para que le vea su local que lo ubica en el centro.
Su mercadería la compra en una distribuidora que se especializa en vender productos para el cabello.
Con el crédito comprará un mueble de peluquería, tinturas, shampo, cremas, lacas.
Una de las metas de Maria en su negocio, son tener la posibilidad de tener a alguien de confianza que trabaje con ella establemente, además agrandar su local para incluir otros implementos de peluquería, para generar mayores ingresos, así con esto optar a una mejor calidad de vida.
Maria vive junto a su pareja, ya que sus hijos son grandes y ya formaron sus propias familias. Sus sueños a nivel laboral son trabajar en su peluquería que ubica en el centro durante las mañanas y en las tardes trabajar en su casa.

Comenta que las capacitaciones han sido fundamentales para su negocio y también para su desarrollo personal. Ya que ha aprendido a organizar y distribuir de mejor manera sus ingresos e inversiones.
San Javier es una comuna y ciudad de la zona central de Chile, perteneciente a la región del Maule. Se caracteriza por ser una zona esencialmente vitivinícola. About Fondo Esperanza

Fondo Esperanza (FE) is a private non-profit organization that supports entrepreneurship by providing micro-credit and training to people living in poverty in well over 100 cities throughout Chile. By providing these services, FE aims to improve the living conditions of the entrepreneurs and their families. In 2010, FE provided loans to more than 41,000 entrepreneurs. It utilizes a communal banking model in which groups of 18 to 25 clients meet on regularly and guarantee each other’s loans. The members use their portion of the loan to create or expand their own businesses. In the group meetings, clients receive training though the FE Entrepreneurship School, which enhances clients’ personal and business skills and ability to work in groups.
