Consella has had five years in farming in her rural home in Nkubu, where she lives with her husband and one child, aged two years. She produces vegetables, beans, and milk for the local market.
Consella has requested a loan of 60,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to help her buy poultry and build a poultry house. She says the poultry business will enable her have stable income throughout the year, unlike crop farming, which goes by seasons.
She hopes to lead in poultry farming and meet her family basic needs with much ease. She mentions lack of adequate rains as the main obstacle.
