Celia lives in Bacolod, Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental. She has been earning income to support the needs of her family by providing transportation services for five years. She makes an income of 7,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) a month from this business. Without hesitation, Celia borrowed 29,700 PHP from GDMPC microcredit to repair the transport vehicle used in her business. She joined GDMPC in 2009. Her plan for the future is to hopefully improved her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
