A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase thirty sacks of cassava flour.

Kavira's story

Kavira is an experienced entrepreneur, a widow and the mother of six children - some of whom are students, others have already left home and are living in their own families. She is a seller of cassava flour from an agricultural store situated in the Birere shopping centre. She began this business when she was young; she was married at the time. Her husband died following a short illness which provoked a heart attack.
The main difficulty with this business, she says, is that she often sells on credit - with the risk of not being paid.
This new loan will allow her to stock up with thirty sacks of cassava flour. Due to the loans from Hekima, she is able to fund her children's education and/or marriage as the case may be. With these loans, she wants to grow the size of her working capital.
She thanks Hekima for its support for the independence of women small entrepreneurs.
