Damaris is a 43 year old woman, married and the mother of two children aged 9 and 16. As well as her own two children, who both attend school, she also cares for two additional people - her nephew and her niece. As a business, she buys fabric (white sheets) which she dyes in various colours according to the orders and wishes of her customers; she then sells the dyed fabrics.
She has been doing this for three years already. She is requesting this loan to buy fabric, and the materials she uses in the dye, so that she can increase production - and therefore income - in order to be better able to cover the costs of schooling her children, and to improve her living conditions.
