Godfrey is 34 years old and lives in the town of Kyengera in the west Kampala region of Uganda. He is married and has 3 children with 2 of them currently in school. For the past 5 years, Godfrey has been working hard to manage his small business of selling timber.

To help expand his business, Godfrey has requested a loan of 300,0000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more timber, and it will help Godfrey to generate greater profits after selling his increased inventory. Godfrey hopes that in the future he will be the leading timber dealer in the Kampala subregion.

Godfrey is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs, like Godfrey, who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but they have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
