Godfrey is 42 years old and lives in the town of Mbarara in the Mbarara region of Uganda. He is married and has six children with four of them currently in school. For the past 10 years, Godfrey has been working hard to manage his hardware shop, which sells bricks, ventilators and pipes.

To help expand his business, Godfrey has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy bricks and pipes and other hardware to sell, and it will help Godfrey to generate greater profits and improve the family's income. Godfrey hopes that in the future he will be able to expand his shop.

Godfrey is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Godfrey who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
