Luch is 29 years old and is married with two children who are currently attending to local school. He is a diligent in farm work, including fishing in Baray district, Kompong Tom province. He has been working in this field for almost 10 years, earning in the neighborhood of USD 3.00 per day. Luch is very glad because his wife helps him earn income for their family. She acts as a fish fresh and lotus fruits vender in a market of the province.
With the amount she has requested, Luch would like to purchase a boat with its machine for fishing activities. This will enable him to increase the volume of his productivity and he hopes that he’ll be able to generate more household income to satisfy his living needs.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
