Luis is requesting a loan to buy supplies, because he is going to plant some crops. He will pay for some labor, so that he can have some young men prepare the land where he will plant his crops, and he will also buy manure and insecticides that he will use to protect the crops from weeds and pests. This loan will help Luis carry out his work in the fields in an orderly manner, with the resources that he needs.

With his prior loan, he made a good investment in the cultivation of corn and processing of sugar cane. This has generated work for him over all of this time, so that he could maintain his sales. He is very grateful for the loans that have been provided to him. Through the loans funded by Kiva, he has been able to increase his earnings and have a better quality of life with his family.

Luis, solicita un préstamo para comprarse los materiales porque va a realizar la siembra, también pagara mano de obra para que puedan los mozos preparar el terreno donde realizara el cultivo, su compra sera el abono y los insecticidas, que son utilizados para proteger la siembra de la maleza y de las plagas, este préstamo le ayudara para que Luis puede realizar su trabajo en el campo de una manera ordenada y con los recursos necesarios.

El efecto que tuvo con el préstamo anterior fue una buena inversión en la siembra de maíz y el proceso de caña de azúcar, esto le ha generado a él, trabajo para todo este período manteniendo sus ventas, está muy agradecido con los préstamos que se le han brindado pues se ha generado mejores ganancias y mejor condición de vida junto con su familia todo a través de los préstamos con kiva.

Concurrent and Successive Loans

Our Field Partners often work with borrowers over a series of loans as the borrowers build credit, take out bigger loans, and expand their businesses. In order to make it easier for our Field Partners to post loans for borrowers who have been listed on Kiva before, we allow them to post successive and concurrent loans for their Kiva borrowers. This means that our Field Partners are able to post a borrower's second, third, etc., loan on Kiva without having to re-enter all of the borrower's information.

This borrower has been listed on Kiva before, so you'll see an updated loan description, as well as excerpts of the original descriptions from earlier loans. Most borrowers take out loans consecutively, meaning that they receive a second loan after having repaid the first. However, sometimes our Field Partners give out concurrent loans, allowing borrowers to take out one primary loan and a secondary "add-on" loan along with it. These "add-on" loans are typically smaller than the borrower's primary loan and serve a different purpose. Because Field Partners can now post loans as successive and concurrent loans, you will be able to track borrower progress over time and see the various ways a borrower is working with our Field Partners through funds from Kiva’s lenders.
