Annet is married with five children, and all her children go to school. She doesn’t take care of additional family members. She has a business of selling charcoal and has been in this charcoal business for 10 years. She sells to all categories of people but on a retail basis.
She has applied for a loan of 300,000 Uganda shillings from MCDTSACCO to buy more bags of charcoal. She doesn’t have any other income-generating activity. Her major business challenges include seasonality and defaulters. She works seven days a week and works at the market.
She aspires to become a wholesaler and also to start going to villages for charcoal. She resides in her own house, and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees.
