Mary Ann, 34, is married with three children and resides in Sibutad, Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines. She cultivates coconuts to sell for a living, a business she has been in for two years. Each month, she earns 2,500 PHP doing this type of business.
Mary Ann has requested a loan of 3,000 PHP to pay for farm maintenance. She joined GDMPC in 2011. In the future, Mary Ann wants to make improvements on her house and to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
