Ruth is a farmer in Kitale with 23 years of experience in mixed farming with her major produce being maize, beans and other horticultural products. She also runs a timber hardware business and low cost rental houses in the local market. She is married with three children aged between 22 and 16 years.
Ruth has made a request for a loan of 60,000 KES from Kiva partner Juhudi Kilimo to buy poultry birds. Her focus is to grow the poultry business in order to earn more income and then venture into dairy farming. She reiterates that her major focus is to boost her capital base so as to do things in a more commercialized way.
