Plan De Lucha 1 Group
In this Group: Ramona, Ventura, Julio, Martha, Roseli
Ramona is one of the members of the Plan de Lucha (Battle Plan) Group 1, located in the city of Hato Mayor, a primarily agricultural region. It is one of the most rural cities in the Dominican Republic. Her business is a "Fantasia" (a little store specializing in women's products). Ramona is the mother of three children, who live with her and her long-term partner. She tells us that her biggest challenge is to thrive, to have a successful business and a stable life.

Ramona is very excited to receive her tenth loan through Esperanza Internacional, after having successfully repaid her previous loan. This was a step toward making her business grow. She has had her business for about seven years. She started it with her first loan in Esperanza, selling miscellaneous products by walking.

Ramona plans to invest this new loan by purchasing cosmetics, clothing, shoes, jewelry and other products; she is planning to increase her inventory into more quantity and in school supplies. She plans to use her earnings to invest in her house. Her dream is to build her house. She thanks all of you for your support!!!

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
