The Benkadi Group consists of married women with an average age of 40 and five children. They live in traditional families in Massablacoura, one of the neighborhoods in the city of Bougouni (third largest administrative region of Mali). In order to satisfy the needs of their customers, they are on their fourth collaboration with the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance organization. This group of women is in the business of condiments with Raboua selling cereal and salad. Raboua, with the black scarf in the photo, plans to use her loan to buy 100 kg of cooking salt and 2 boxes of Maggi seasoning cubes. She stocks up at the Bougouni market and resells from home to female and male customers, for cash and credit. She expects to earn an average monthly profit of 20,000 FCFA, part of which will be used to help her husband with daily expenses. The other part will be invested in the business.

Le groupe BENKADI est constitué de femmes mariées qui ont en moyenne 40 ans, 5 enfants et qui vivent dans des familles traditionnelles à MASSABLACOURA, un des quartiers de la ville de Bougouni (3ème région administrative du Mali).
Elles sont à leur quatrième collaboration avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso afin de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle. Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce de condiments avec RABOUA, de la vente de céréales et de salades.
RABOUA, avec un foulard noir en début du rang sur la photo, compte acheter avec son prêt, 100 Kg de sel de cuisine et 2 cartons de cube Maggi. Elle s’approvisionne au marché de Bougouni. Elle effectue sa vente à domicile à une clientèle composée de femmes et d’hommes, en détail, au comptant et à crédit.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 20.000.FCFA par mois dont une partie sera utilisée pour l’appui de son mari dans les dépenses quotidiennes et l’autre partie sera investie dans les activités.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
